TV Foundation Announces Impact Unit

Posted on Oct 20, 2024 by Samara Husbands

The TV Foundation has introduced the Impact Unit to enhance class and social mobility in the television sector, focusing on career development initiatives, a working group, and a Social Mobility Bursary

The TV Foundation – part of the Edinburgh TV Festival – has launched its Impact Unit, an industry initiative that targets class and social mobility within the TV industry. Inspired by this year’s MacTaggart Lecture, the Impact Unit aims to open the TV industry to all via career development programmes, a working group, a list of ‘class-confident’ organisations and a Social Mobility Bursary, launching in 2025.

After a development period spanning months, the Impact Unit is ready to tackle the most pressing issues. Gemma Bradshaw – former director at One World Media – will lead the charge, working with talent, reviewing applications and keeping tabs on the sector’s diversity efforts more generally.
